Swizz Beatz Speaks On Dr. Dre, “Big Plans” For DMX & New Work With Nas

Swizz Beatz discusses several topics including Dr. Dre, new work with Nas and “big plans” for DMX.

During a recent interview, Swizz Beatz shared much about several topics. He discussed Dr. Dre’s influence and explained how he got to “vibe” with the Doctor recently. Beatz also discussed “big plans” for longtime collaborator DMX and new work with Nas.

“I was definitely floored to be around [Dr.] Dre, especially recently working with him on his album and us finally getting one-on-one time for a week and change to just vibe, vibe in the club, vibe outside of the studio and vibe at the crib and still see his threads that made him the greatest still be intact,” Swizzy told Bootleg Kev, before noting they worked together approximately two months ago.

After touching on that matter, the conversation turned to DMX and Swizz Beatz said he has big plans for his Double R partner.

“I have a lot of big plans with X that I plan on putting in motion as a brother, as a responsibility, as fans,” he said. “I’m mapping that out now and the world will soon know about that…DMX is one-of-one. I just hate to see what I’ve been seeing because I remember when people couldn’t follow up with him on stage, big name people…People still don’t understand X. My job is to get people to understand X for real. With reality shows, that stuff is edited. It’s real stuff but I just think people need to see another side of X.”

He also noted that he has new work with Nas, adding that the two will have a fun but gritty new video.

“We’ve got a couple of things we’re working on. We’re in the middle of working on the treatment for the video. It’s an unexpected track from me and Nas, literally having fun but still keeping it gritty.”

Sean Garrett Owes Over $700,000 In Taxes

Sean Garrett joins the growing group of artists who owe money to Uncle Sam.

Though Sean Garrett may have written hits for the likes of Ciara, Nicki Minaj, and countless others, he apparently hasn’t found a way to pay his taxes.

TMZ reports that Garrett owes the back taxes for the years 2006 and 2007, totaling $732,553.57.

The report further provides that BMI, which collects Garrett’s royalties, to garnish the singer/songwriter’s wages.

Garrett inked a deal with Roc Nation/Columbia in 2010, after it was widely reported that he was signing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records. Garrett had worked on Nicki Minaj’s “Massive Attack,” which was featured on the rapper’s debut album, Pink Friday.

Garrett has produced an astonishing 15 number one singles in his career

Diggy Simmons Launches Diss Track Aimed At J. Cole

Diggy Simmons took umbrage at a J. Cole Line on “Grew Up Fast,” and has now responded with “What You Say To Me.”

Young rapper Diggy Simmons was none to pleased when J. Cole addressed Diggy in a dismissive manner on “Grew Up Fast “: “Move along cocksucker, ain’t got nothing to see / ‘Less you talking blockbuster, you niggas is not Russell / You more Diggy, me? I’m more Biggie / No diss to the young buy, I’m just rapping, get bored quickly.”

In response, Diggy decided to lay it on the line with his new track, “What You Say To Me,” spotted at MissInfo.TV:

“The other day I was listening to Purple Rain / couldn’t believe all of the things that I heard em say / Who dat, who dat, you know who it is / Heard you lying on my sis, tellin people that you hit / When your album drops I’ma hit you with your bricks / So I’ma bomb first on you since you wanna riff / Who you gonna call, you ain’t got no friends / This fight is fixed, you ain’t got no wins / Little nigga named Cole think he live like me / Jet setter trend setter, yeah you not like me / Can’t find a girl that you know that do not like me / Can’t find a girl I know, who know you, you dumb fool / Wasn’t even poppin’ in the school you used to go to.”

Diggy’s reference to J. Cole’s “Purple Rain ” illustrate another facet of the dispute, as Cole referenced Diggy’s sister, Vanessa, on the cut.

Drake Discusses Collaboration With The Weeknd “Crew Love”

Drake recalls the origin of his collaboration with The Weeknd.

The Weeknd contributed both as a singer and as a producer on Drake’s sophomore album, Take Care. In a recent interview with Choice FM, the rapper discussed his collaboration with his fellow Toronto native.

“Well, ‘Crew Love ‘ was a song I actually heard for the first time when I was on the ‘Moment 4 Life ‘ video set with Nicki Minaj,” explained Drizzy.

“One of my friends played me this song,” he continued. “At the time, we were just building our relationship with The Weeknd. Kinda just talking to him for the first time. It was a song he had…the hook and his verse was done already, and I was like, ‘Yo, this song is brilliant. Listen to how it starts, and what he’s saying, and the sentiment in the song.’”

“That’s where I’m at in my life,” stated Drake. “Love in the crew. It’s not just about me. It’s about the Weeknd, it’s about Niko, it’s about my cousin Ryan. They love all of us.”
